  • macOS minions connect their tunnel. The tunnel configuration handed to a Mac pointed at a credentials file in a location that only exists on Linux, so cloudflared could never read its credentials and quietly restarted in a loop. Setup reported the tunnel as installed and started regardless, because it never checked. The configuration is now written for macOS, the agent corrects the path itself if an older server hands it the Linux one, and configure verifies the tunnel actually came up — telling you whether it is not loaded (no desktop session) or failing to stay up (bad configuration) instead of claiming success. The setup summary also spells out the --setup-tunnel flag, which was missing from the command it told you to copy.

  • diagnose stops failing on things that work. On macOS the port check could only see sockets owned by the user running it, so the system’s screen sharing service — owned by root — read as down on a machine where VNC was fine. The language model check still insisted on LLM_COMMAND, so a minion configured the current way, with hq llm primary, always failed; it now passes with either and names the engine it found.
