  • Your own site’s contact form can post straight into Minion. An endpoint is a URL you point an ordinary HTML form at. What people send lands in a Minion form, where you read it in the Responses tab or export it as CSV — so the page no longer needs an email address on it for someone to write to you, and there is nothing on it for a scraper to collect. It works with no JavaScript and no build step, and you don’t declare the fields in Minion: whatever name attributes your form uses become the columns, so renaming or adding one is nothing to keep in sync. After a submission the visitor lands back on a page of yours that you nominate; Minion does not host a thank-you page. A hidden _gotcha field catches bots, an allowed-sites list decides who may submit, and each endpoint has its own daily cap. Attachments are not supported, and there is no email notification or auto-reply yet — check the Responses tab, or have a minion poll it.   • An assessment catalog’s identifier is visible, and yours to choose. Starting a catalog from blank now asks for an identifier — web-production, say — alongside the name, derived from the name when that name is in English and filled in by you otherwise. It also appears in the catalog’s Integration view, in a form you can copy, which is the page you are already on when you go to issue a key. Until now it was only ever generated from the name, which left catalogs named in Japanese as catalog, catalog-2 and so on — unreadable, and unfixable afterwards, because an identifier cannot change once the catalog exists. It cannot change because integrations pin it to check they are talking to the catalog they expect, and letting it move would turn an ordinary rename into a false alarm. Samples bring their own.

Improvements

  • The form editor is split into tabs. Questions, Responses, Settings, Access and Endpoints are now five tabs rather than one growing column, so the settings that need the most room are no longer the ones squeezed into the narrowest card. The header carries the title, its status and sharing; saving, saving a draft and previewing sit in the Questions tab next to what they act on; and deleting a form has moved to a danger zone at the bottom of Settings.
