v2026.10.0

Released 2026-10-03.

  • Minion Deck Studio: slide decks that live on your minion. Click parts onto a slide — title, subtitle, body, bullets, caption, image — then drag them and resize them from the corners, with snapping, undo and autosave. Text that overflows its box, and anything that sits off the edge of the slide, is flagged as you work, including on slides you don’t have open. Present full-screen in a new tab, and export the deck to PDF or PowerPoint (the text stays editable and speaker notes come along) or the current slide to PNG. The Japanese and emoji fonts ship with the app, so an export looks the same whichever minion produced it.

Save a deck to Drive as a .mi-deck.zip — or save an export there directly — and open it again from Drive on any minion to carry on editing. Slide decks you already have in HQ gain an Export for Deck Studio action, in the slide editor and in Drive’s row menu, that packs the deck and its images into a file Deck Studio opens. Experimental, like the other official apps.

  • Minion Image Studio: explanatory images, made on your minion. Built for the screenshots that go into articles and manuals: put arrows, numbered badges, highlights and mosaic over the parts that need it, add text in Japanese or Latin fonts (vertical too), crop, remove a flat background, and export PNG at four times the canvas resolution, or SVG. Projects are saved on your minion so you can reopen one and move an arrow later, and you can keep a copy in Drive as a .mi-image.zip that opens back into the editor. Experimental.

  • Your minion can use the official apps itself. Each app now ships instructions the minion reads before it starts, so you can ask it to make an annotated screenshot in Image Studio, cut and caption a video in Video Studio and export the MP4, or file scanned PDFs onto the Media Home bookshelf. Image Studio and Deck Studio render their output on the minion, so it checks the result for itself before handing it back. For slides, say “in Deck Studio” when you ask — minions still reach for HQ’s built-in slides by default for now.

  • Apps are easy to find and open — for everyone in the workspace. The Apps page now opens with the apps you can use in this workspace: one card per app, listing each minion that runs it with its status and an Open button, above the catalog. The minion window gains an Apps tab next to Chat. Members can open any app its owner has published to the workspace; before, the only way in for a member was opening one of the app’s files from Drive.

  • Insert images into a CMS entry’s body. An Insert image button in the editor picks from the site’s media and places the image at the cursor, so adding a screenshot no longer means uploading in one tab and copying a URL by hand in another. Image details gain a copy-URL button for using an image outside the CMS.

  • Minions can upload images to a CMS site. A minion can now add images to a site’s media and list what is there, so it can finish an article, or an OGP template, without waiting for someone to upload a picture first.

  • Long CMS entry slugs save. Entry slugs can now be up to 100 characters. Slugs made from long article titles were being rejected at 40.

Includes @geekbeer/minion 5.17.0, Deck Studio 0.6.0, Image Studio 0.7.0, Video Studio 0.36.6 and Media Home 0.24.3.
